Transit Innovation Partnership, a public-private collaboration to transform New York’s public transit systemRachel Haot is Executive Director of the Transit Innovation Partnership, a public-private collaboration to transform New York’s public transit system, founded by the Partnership for New York City and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in 2018. Prior to this she served as Managing Director for 1776, incubating and investing in startups in heavily regulated sectors. Previously, Rachel served as New York State’s first Chief Digital Officer under Governor Andrew M. Cuomo from 2014-2015 as New York City’s first Chief Digital Officer under Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg from 2011-2013. In these roles she led the overhaul and service-focused redesign of the official state and city websites, ran official digital communications and service delivery, launched campaigns to spur the tech ecosystem and developed frameworks for the .NYC top-level domain and LinkNYC kiosks to replace payphones. Earlier in her career Rachel was founder and CEO of GroundReport, a global citizen journalism platform, from 2006 to 2010. She previously worked in business development for LimeWire and taught as an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School. Rachel graduated from New York University with a B.A. in History and is a Board Member of Tech:NYC, the Regional Plan Association and the Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy. Rachel has been named a 40 Under 40 by Forbes, Fortune and Crain’s, one of the Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company and Chief Digital Officer of the Year by the CDO Summit.
